Had a great training session with Kate on Friday.
We spent 30 minutes in the yoga room. Little did I know it would be a torture chamber. Okay I’m embellishing a bit. That equipment may look harmless but it’s extremely torturous when used it certain ways. I’m really bugged that my balance isn’t very good. I’m having a love/hate relationship with that darn bosu ball.
God it’s effective. You sure can’t cheat on it.
The other new exercise that just killed me was sit ups on the slant board while moving a ball from side to side. That one kicked my abs big time.
So the workout was great. And I’ve been feeling pretty good about my diet the past couple of weeks. I’ve kept it pretty honest. Well this past weekend really nailed me. I wasn’t horrible, but I won’t win any prizes either. Went out to dinner Saturday and Sunday nights. That’s my downfall…going out to eat. Now I know what I should be eating. But when there is fresh homemade bread in front of me I can’t resist. And the carbs were exquisite. Couldn’t turn the risotto down. On Sunday we went out for sushi…tried to stay away from having too much rice.
There are definite patterns to my eating habits.
I’m usually good for 2 weeks and then fall off the wagon. At least this past weekend I didn’t completely fall off. Didn’t have any sugar and that’s a huge accomplishment for me.
But the good thing about this past weekend was the intensity of my runs. I ran both Saturday and Sunday. And if I do say so myself I really pushed it pretty hard. There’s no question that the “quality” of my workouts has improved tremendously. And I owe that to Kate. If I’m going to work out I’m going make it a good one.
No more half measures.
Tomorrow – another bootcamp. Curious to see if it’s as hard as it was last week.
